Professor Mary Stuart CBE is Vice Chancellor of the University of Lincoln. She is a grauate of the University of Cape Town an the Open University where she obtaine her Doctorate in Social Policy in 1998. Her research interests are focusse on life histories, social mobility, higher eucation stuents, leaership in 21st Century organisations, place-making, economic an community evelopment.

Mary has a strong track recor in all aspects of university management, having worke in senior roles in three ifferent universities. Since joining Lincoln she has establishe an grown the first new Engineering School to be create in the UK for more than 20 years (in collaboration with Siemens plc). Mary has also successfully le the evelopment of science provision at Lincoln, incluing the Schools of Chemistry, Pharmacy, Physics an Mathematics, an has establishe the Lincoln Institute for Agri-foo Technology to evelop the future of farming an grow our foo inustry’s competitiveness.

Passionate about the stuent experience, Mary seeks to continually rive change an improvements in partnership with stuents an the acaemic community, working closely with the Stuents’ Union at Lincoln.
