你所不知道的社区学院

美国社区大学是美国2年制学院，为毕业学生提供副学士学位。通常学生通过社区大学完成两年的本科通识课程，再升入综合性四年制大学完成后两年的专业课程，最后拿到学士学位。

在很多人的眼里，社区大学是给那些所谓的差生读的而且社区大学本身也是一些相对较差的学校，其实不然。社区大学现在已经成为美国进入高等学府的途径，学生不仅能够花更少的学费修到有用的学分，并且能够通过在社区大学的学习提高自己的GPA。越来越多的美国学生也选择了社区大学。有研究专门对从社区大学转学到四年制大学的学生进行了监测，研究表明这些学生甚至比一开始就在四年制大学的学生有着更好的成绩和更高的毕业率。事实上，社区大学现在也是美国的主流教育，美国目前已有1000多所社区大学，主要集中在全美的居民区附近，已演变为美国高等教育的重要组成部分，在方便社区居民就近入学、普及高等教育中的通识教育、减轻国民高等教育费用、保障公平教育权等方面，发挥重要作用。一个匹兹堡的美国学生，得到了弗吉尼亚理工大学的录取，最后还是选择了去社区大学。一个是离家近，一个是省钱。这个学生后来转学去UIUC读计算机。换句话说社区大学是学生们积攒知识与能力的熔炉，更是通往名校的跳板！

美国的社区大学是被中国教育部所认可的，而且社区大学一般都是直接由本地州政府或者郡政府创立并出资的，所以无法野鸡。

或许很多人不理解，为什么要选择社区大学而不是四年制的大学？首先是学费，美国社区大学大约8000美金每年，而四年制大学大约2-3万美金每年。其次是入学条件， 美国社区大学不需要SAT，在没有语言成绩的情况也也可以双录取。而四年制大学一般要求高中平均分要在80分以上，托福也要求在79分以上， 排名在前50的学校都要求SAT成绩并且不提供双录取的机会。 另一方面，社区大学是经美国教育部认证的正规大学，美国的教育制度规定名牌大学必须每年招收一部分社区大学转学生，因此，社区大学的学生录取名校的概率比高中毕业直申成功率大。如果你还在纠结无法进入美国一流的高校，可以尝试将社区大学作为你的名校跳板
