哥伦比亚大学法学硕士LLM专业解读

学院介绍

哥伦比亚大学法学院紧跟着T3(指：耶鲁大学、哈佛大学、斯坦福大学)的步伐，在建院思路上则有些类似哈佛。在招生人数上与哈佛匹敌，数量庞大。另一方面，裹挟纽约市的绝佳Location优势，吸引了一批又一批的顶级外国LLM，特别是希望在大苹果城(即纽约市)找到Internship甚至是正式职位的LLM。对于中国小本而言，哥大的录取难度是比较大的。由于哥大较为注重工作经验，往年出现过被哈佛录取却被哥大拒绝的先例。

幸好总体而言，哥大的录取标准还是比T3要稍微低一些。坊间普遍认为哥大的招生标准是比较难以捉摸的。此外值得一提的是，哥大的录取程序是比较奇怪的，从其不可通融的申请要求，到曲径通幽的Checker账户，都延续了其一贯的“傲娇”风格。由于哥大LLM的学生主体是有多年工作经验的律师，其校友网络在中国大陆十分精英化，香港校友的影响力也不可小觑。

项目介绍

哥伦比亚大学法学硕士LLM为期1年，需要修满24学分，通过法学院集中申请系统（LSAC）进行申请，成绩单须经CAS公证，要求申请者拥有法学第一学位，如法学学士（LLB）学位，且有1年以上的工作经验。

LL.M.专业为期一年，于每年秋季开学。9月15日开放申请，LLM项目有提前申请（ED）和常规申请，截止日期分别为11月1日和12月15日。

You shoul prepare this statement without assistance from others. The format of the statement shoul not excee three ouble-space pages using a 12-point font with stanar margins. We will not accept a résumé or curriculum vitae in place of the statement.
