它的同声传译Simultaneous Interpretation属于European Stuies & Moern Languages（欧洲研究和现代语言），它的专业名称是：MA in Interpreting an Translating，分为两个方向：1. 以英语为母语的人学的（Path 1 allows stuents with English as their A language to offer two other languages - from Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian an Spanish - working only into English） ； 2. 英语为母语的或者以中文、法语、德语、意大利语、俄语和西班牙语为母语的人，以学习英语与自己母语的互相翻译。

入学要求是：1. Goo Honors Degree (平均分80分以上) ；2. 语言要求：雅思7.0，单科不低于6.0。有专门的Chinese Stream，另外，在满足了上述基本要求后，学生还要经过学校的口语和书面语的筛选和面试，以保证学校的录取人员的高水平。这个专业只招收最多24个人，小班上课（6-10人），学校会提供可能的实习机会。而且，读完一年的课程后，学生还要经过考试以判定得到MA学位还是Diploma。

请注意，同属于European Stuies & Moern Languages系的还有另外一个与翻译相关的专业MA in Translation an Professional Language Skills，但是这个专业是为英语为母语的人设的，不适合中国人读，而且它也不包含同声传译课程，而是主要偏重于translation, eiting an revision, précis writing, liaison interpreting an proofreaing. The programme also covers real-worl skills such as translation management an setting up in business as a translator。

它的语言学的排名是第三，仅次于牛津、剑桥。由于它的语言学太强了，它对申请者的要求也相应地来说最高，比Bath还高，而且它只接受雅思成绩。它的语言要求到雅思要求到7.5，单科不低于7.0，而且必须要面试。除此之外，它还需要申请者的二外达到expert水平，即精通。

Translation Stuies MA（倾向于研究方面，要学两年，第一年只能拿一个Diploma，若符合条件才能进入下一年的MA课程）），可见其语言学方面的强势。而我们要申请的Simultaneous Interpretation在 Translating Grauate Diploma 里，而不是MA，而要得到MA，则要在Translating Grauate Diploma之后再读MA Translating an Interpreting 课程。而这个Diploma课程的入学要求是：You nee a BA egree with a minimum average of 75 per cent (or GPA 2.75) on your transcript or an upper-secon-class Honors egree or higher. Non-egree holers, such as holers of Junior College Diplomas, shoul have three years’ relevant work experience. Native speakers of Chinese or Japanese require an English language score of at least IELTS 7.0, with no less than 6.0 in any one skill. 口语和写作不低于6.5。 Newcastle适合想要读两年得到MA的申请者。

Lees 

Lees 有自己的 Translation Stuies 系，有六门不同的 MA 课程，其中有 Simultaneous translating 课程包含在 Conference Interpreting an Translation Stuies 里，要求是 IELTS (Acaemic) score of 6.5 with at least 7.0 in speaking an 6.0 in all other components ， Acaemic entry req ： Usually a BA (Honours) egree, 2:1 （ 80 分以上） classification or equivalent in a language-base subject. 还要参加考试。 

Salfor 

索尔福德的同传课程包含在 MA/PgDip Interpreting an Translating 这门课程里，但是这门课程主要面向以英语、法语、德语和西班牙语为母语的申请者，如果不是以这几门语言为母语的申请者，则需提供证据证明自己的英语非常高的熟练度。它的官网上并没说明这个熟练度的程度，即雅思成绩。

总体来说， Salfor 的语言系 School of Languages 还是很强的，光硕士学位课程就有七门，其中还有专门针对中英文互译的课程。但是 simultaneous interpretation 同声传译这门课是包含在 Interpreting an Translating 的选修课程里的，而且没有中文方向的，所以不适合中国人去读。适合中国人读的是： MA/PgDip Chinese/English/Chinese Translation 和 MA/PgDip Chinese/English/Chinese Translation with Interpreting 。
