  • 学生将和在家学习的同学一样采用相同的线上学习;
  • 休息时间只可以在有限的区域内活动,学校会提醒学生保持适当的社交距离;
  • 学生应按照规定每天穿着正式校服和运动服;

Dear parents an caregivers

As the COVID-19 situation continues to evelop, our school has been planning for a variety of scenarios — the main scenario being that chilren an stuents may nee to learn at home uring Term 2. I am writing to confirm the arrangement for our school for Term 2.

Term 2 arrangements — Weeks 1–5

The Queenslan Government has ecie that, in orer to reinforce social istancing across the community an slow the sprea of COVID-19, stuents will move to a home-base learning moel from 20 April 2020 until at least 22 May 2020 (Weeks 1 to 5 of Term 2). A ecision about the remainer of Term 2 will be mae by mi-May. During this perio, all stuents who are able to be supervise at home an learn from home are to stay home.

As was the case for the stuent-free ays prior to school break, there will be exceptions for some stuents who will continue to be able to atten school: those whose parents or carers work in essential roles an must atten their workplace an cannot access alternative care, stuents ientifie as vulnerable, an stuents in esignate Inigenous communities. This means that if you are working from home (ie not attening your workplace) your chil shoul be at home not at school.

We will ask parents of chilren note above as being able to atten school, to avise us if they require their chilren to be supervise at school uring this perio.

Each morning parents/ caregivers for stuents learning at home, will receive an email an text from the school. Parents/ caregivers are only require to respon if their chil/ren will NOT be learning at home that ay ue to illness or another reason. No response inicates your chil/ren will be learning at home that ay.

Teachers will be monitoring engagement of stuents to the online learning uring each week, an will be in contact with parents if there are any concerns. This may be followe up by Heas of Department, Hea of Special Eucation Services, Year Level Coorinators an/ or Deputy Principals if require.

It is important for parents/ caregivers of stuents who fall into these categories above an are planning on them physically attening school, to note the following;

· Stuents will be supervise in accessing the same learning materials their peers are accessing at home. They will not be in class with their regular class or their teacher.

· There will be reuce areas uring break times for stuents. All basketball courts will be close, however the oval will remain open. Stuents will be remine aroun appropriate social istancing expectations.

· Full school uniform as per the regular cycle between formal an sports uniforms shoul be worn by stuents every ay.

· The canteen an uniform shop will be open Monay 20th of April uring regular business hours. An assessment of the ongoing provision of these services will be unertaken an communicate to parents an stuents as soon as practicable.

Preparing for home learning

I acknowlege this is a challenging time for you an your chil as you prepare to help them to learn from home. Our teachers an school staff have been working har to plan for this approach an have evelope learning programs that best suit the stuents at our school. Your chil/ren’s teachers will be in contact with you an your chil/ren to let you know what to expect an how you can best support your chil’s learning. We unerstan that some families may not have access to IT resources. Not all learning will be online, however we are happy to iscuss loaning a school evice to your chil uring the next few weeks where there is a genuine nee, with each case being assesse inepenently. If you are in this position please contact the appropriate sector office for futher etails.

You may wish to explore the Department of Eucation’s range of learning@home parent resources online at https://eucation.ql.gov.au/curriculum/learning-at-home . The epartment is also working with television networks to evelop new televise eucational programs that will be broacast on TV a number of ays a week. Further information about these programs will be mae available in the near future.

Please know that we are here to support you an your chilren. With our preparation an guiance an your support, I am confient that stuents will continue to learn an grow in Term 2.

To support parents an carers, some tips have been put together to make the transition easier:

· Remember that at Keron a weekly email will be sent to stuents an parents by each teacher. Teachers will communicate the structure of lessons, interactions an engagements for that week. This may look ifferent at times for ifferent subjects, year levels an teachers.

· Routines an consistency can be a source of comfort for parents an chilren alike, for this reason we are encouraging stuents to work towar sticking to their timetables uring the week. This oesn’t mean you can’t be flexible an aapt as you learn what works an to ensure your chil has reasonable rest time.

· Treat the first week as a ‘starting school’ or orientation type of week. Not everything will go to plan, an it might take a while to work out how to fin an use the right resources an unerstan what’s best for you

an your chil. The ‘how to’ will come first, an then the learning.

· Remember that your chil's teacher usually ivies their attention between up to 28 stuents who all work at ifferent paces an nee ifferent levels of support. At home, two to three hours of learning each ay will usually be plenty. Try using a range of other activities to keep chilren engage an stimulate without becoming overwhelme.

· This situation presents an opportunity for stuents to fin out more about themselves as learners an to become more confient in self-irecting their learning. Encourage your chil to take responsibility for not only learning but also for staying in touch with their teacher, their class an their friens an community.

· If your chil is fining a task ifficult, make suggestions an answer questions, but try to let them figure things out for themselves as much as possible. Give them opportunities, where appropriate, to take control of their own learning.

· Remember this is new for us, too. You can help us succee by letting us know if you’re unsure about something an using the preferre contact time an metho that your teacher will avise you of.

Further information on supporting your chil, maintaining healthy learning routines an setting up a learning space at home can be foun at https://eucation.ql.gov.au/curriculum/learning-at-home/wellbeing-of-stuents

While there will be some ajustments along the way as we learn together, our teachers are here to support your chil’s learning. Please stay connecte with your teacher, to our school an to one another.

Thank you

Thank you for the support you are proviing both your chil an the school uring these ifficult times. You woul have seen that all over Australia an the worl, schooling systems are experiencing the same challenges with many countries also moving to home-base learning in response to COVID-19.

Our eicate teachers an support staff continue to be here support your chil with their learning. I assure you we will strive to maintain close contact with you over the next few weeks to provie learning for your chil an together we will support each other an see all of our stuents continue to grow.
