赴英留学之ATAS介绍（一）

每年去英国读研究生或博士课程的同学中，都有一小部分的offer上会要求他们提供 atas认证，
否则签证将不会予以通过。那么究竟什么是atas呢？竟会影响留英签证的发放？

什么是atas？
atas ，全称为acaemic technology approval scheme，是来自非欧洲经济区﹙non-eea﹚和非瑞士（non-switzerlan）的留学生在报读某些敏感学科课程的研究生或博士生后，办理签证之前，必须通过的一道附加的审查。

为什么需要atas认证？
atas 是在2007年11月1日推出的，是英国反对核扩散义务的重要组成部分之一。这项审核计划，主要是英国政府在反恐战略下，为了确保外国留学研究生在英国与大规模杀伤性武器及与生化，航天航空，农业和工程等小部分敏感性的专业的知识和技术的传播没有任何关联而制定的。

哪些学生需要atas认证？
通常，如果你申请的专业，在签证阶段需要提供atas，则atas将出现在你有条件录取通知书的“conitions”中。

本科
本科生一般不需要atas，如果是本硕连读学生，则也需要提交atas。

硕士
一般来说，攻读授课型硕士课程的学生，欧洲经济区及瑞士的本土学生不需要申请atas证书。其他学生中，如果你要攻读的课程代码（jacs coe）为如下开头的，需要申请atas：
f2 – materials science 材料科学
f3 – physics ﹙incluing nuclear physics﹚ 物理，包括核物理
h3 – mechanical engineering 机械工程
h4 – aerospace engineering 航天工程
h8 – chemical，process an energy engineering 化学加工能源工程
j5 – materials technology not otherwise specifie 材料工程
特殊：kcl msc engineering with management 专业也需要atas

攻读研究型硕士课程的学生，欧洲经济区及瑞士的本土学生不需要申请atas证书。 其他学生中，如果你要攻读的课程代码在以下范围内，则需要申请 ﹙课程代码同上﹚。

以访问形式攻读研究型硕士课程的学生，欧洲经济区及瑞士的本土学生不需要申请atas证书。或者学生是在英国以访问形式攻读6个月以上的研究型硕士课程，且所得学分会累加到学生在另一个国家的硕士学位成绩里，学生不需要申请atas证书。其他学生中，如果你要攻读的课程代码在以下范围内，则需要申请（课程代码同上）。

博士
攻读哲学或其他学科博士课程的学生，欧洲经济区及瑞士的本土学生不需要申请atas证书。其他学生中，如果你要攻读的课程代码在以下范围内，则需要申请：
医学类 meicine

生物科学类 biological sciences
c1 – biology
c2 – botany
c4 – genetics
