The course offers teaching on the sociology of meia an culture, incluing relevant work in social, cultural an meia theory, an teaching on research methos. Stuents work towars a written issertation supporte by supervisions an a issertation workshop.

One to one supervisionStuents will typically receive one supervision on each of the topics they choose to stuy for the fiel review essay; these supervisions may be in groups an will be part of the teaching provie in Lent term. In aition, stuents will typically receive approximately eight hours of supervision on their issertation, sprea across the three terms.Seminars & classesCore course: 16 hours (eight two-hour sessions) in Michaelmas term. Research methos: core course: eight hours in Michaelmas terms plus any specialist research methos courses an moules selecte by stuents (stuents can choose from a wie range of aitional courses on research methos, both qualitative an quantitative). We require a previous acaemic backgroun in sociology or relate subject areas such as meia an/or communication with a sociology component. This course is not suitable for people new to the iscipline.

Bachelor ’ s from a recognise institution with an overall grae of 85% from prestigious institutions, GPA 3.5 an an overall grae of 90% from goo institutions, GPA 3.8. Master ’ s from any other institution with an overall grae of a Pass.
